Bible reading tips and resources

While we know that the Bible is important, many of us find it a challenge to make reading it a regular part of our routines. During Bible Month, lots of people shared resources and apps that they use to help them read their bibles regularly. Here are some of those practical tools to help you read the Bible.

Each day you will receive a Psalm or Proverbs reading, and New Testament reading, and an Old Testament reading. Updated daily, Nicky Gumbel then provides insightful commentary on each Bible passage, intended to be read or listened to alongside the Bible to provide fresh understanding of the texts.


The Bible Gateway App lets you read and listen to different Bible translations, enjoy a daily Bible Verse of the Day or use different Bible reading plans to journey through God’s Word. Also includes reference sources and allows you to take notes, highlight Bible text, and bookmark your favorite verses.
The Bible Project is a non-profit animation studio that produces short-form, fully animated videos to make the biblical story accessible to everyone, everywhere. There are studies based on books of the bible, words or different themes available on the website along with a one year reading plan and a bible reading app.
Featuring an offline bible along with 1000's of resources that can be used alongside your bible to help you get deeper into God's word. It even helps you track the verses alongside your chosen resource. It also allows you to customise how you view and highlight the bible
This is a daily prayer session, designed for use on portable devices, to help you pray whenever you find time. It is not a 'Thought for the Day', a sermon or a bible-study, but rather a framework for your own prayer. Founded in Ignatian Spirituality and lasting between ten and thirteen minutes, it combines music, scripture and some questions for reflection.

The Sacred Space app guides you through a prayer session in six stages:the Presence of God, Freedom, Consciousness, The Word, Conversation, Conclusion.Each stage is designed as an exercise or meditation to help you get in touch with God and feel God’s presence in your life.
